Class of 2024: The Convocation Day AU Students Will Never Forget
There are days in a university's life that simply mean more than others. June 29, 2024 was one of those days for Anurag University. The first convocation ceremony for the Class of 2024 wasn't just an event on a calendar it was the moment four years of early mornings, late nights, exams, friendships, failures, and breakthroughs finally got the celebration they deserved. APJ Abdul Kalam Hall was full. And so were a lot of hearts.
The Morning Everything Felt Different
The ceremony opened with a formal academic procession dignitaries and faculty walking in with the kind of quiet gravity that tells everyone in the room that what's about to happen matters. Parents filled the seats, many of them seeing their children in a completely different light for the first time not as students anymore, but as graduates. The dress code added something beautiful to the atmosphere. Students dressed in white kurtas and kurtis, shoulders draped in red or blue shawls each colour carrying the weight of the years behind them and the promise of everything ahead. It was traditional, it was elegant, and it felt exactly right.
The Walk Across the Dais
The highlight of the morning was the conferring of degrees each name called, each graduate walking across the stage to receive what they'd worked so hard for. Degrees were presented by Dr. Balaji Utla, Registrar; Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Chairman; Prof. U.B. Desai, Chancellor; Dr. Archana Mantri, Vice Chancellor; and Mrs. S. Neelima, CEO of Anurag University. Every single walk was met with applause and cheers from friends, from family, from faculty who had watched these students grow. In those few seconds crossing the dais, four years of everything came together into one quiet, profound moment.
The End of One Chapter, the Start of Another
The ceremony closed with the national anthem and a ceremonial group photograph a final frame of the Class of 2024 together, before they scattered into the world they'd spent four years preparing for. Convocations are always bittersweet. You're celebrating an ending as much as a beginning. But what made this one feel particularly special was that it was Anurag University's first a milestone not just for the graduates but for the institution itself. A reminder that every great university is built one graduating class at a time.
