About the Department
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 2002. The development and the growth were very progressive and within a short period of time the department earned the reputation of being one of the best for the Electronics & Communication education. The Department is accredited by NBA in 2009 and 2017 re-accredited in 2023. The department provides B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programs with various specializations.
Electronics and Communication Engineering aims to build smart electronic systems using intelligent computing and communication technologies for better living. It focuses on the fundamental study of electronic devices & circuits, signals & systems, electromagnetics, control systems, principles of communication and enables the learners to acquire expertise in design, develop and tests the projects in any one of the areas namely VLSI design, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded systems & IoT, AI & machine learning, mobile communication networks, robotics & automation. The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department has the most advanced and aesthetically created infrastructural facilities in the campus which includes an exclusive auditorium, a department library and R & D facilities. A wide range of value added courses in latest technologies, training for innovative project development and outcome based educational processes ensure that the students learning process is participative and purely experiential. The department faculty expertise and research culture helps the students to come up with best possible technology solutions.

Head of the Department
Dr. Harikrishna Kamatham, B.Tech, MS(USA), Ph.D, FIETE, MIACSIT
HOD, Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Dr. Harikrishna Kamatham obtained his B.Tech degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, and later moved to USA to pursue his Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, IL, USA. He has completed his PhD degree in Embedded Systems from SRM University, Chennai, in 2013. His areas of interest include Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, IoT, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Computer Networks, Computer Organization, etc. Being from a family of teachers, he started his teaching career as Teaching Assistant in Southern Illinois University Carbondale, IL, USA. With his immense passion in teaching field, he worked in various engineering colleges in the capacities of Head of the Department, Dean, Vice-Principal and Principal. He received “Best Principal of the Year” award from Secretary, DST, MHRD, Govt. of India, in the year 2020.
Bringing along with him his 24 years of teaching experience, he has joined Anurag University as Professor and Head, Department of ECE in 2025. He has published more than 25 papers in National and International conferences and journals. He is Fellow of IETE and Life Member of International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology. He is also an editorial board member in various reputed international journals.

Dr. S. Sathees Kumaran
Dean – R & D, AU
Prof. S. Satheeskumaran is the Dean of Research and Development at Anurag University, Hyderabad, India. He is also a professor in the ECE Department. His interests lie in signal processing, computer vision, machine learning, and digital healthcare. Dr. Satheeskumaran secured a research grant of 1.16 crores from the DST, Government of India. Under his leadership, the ECE department of Anurag University secured 3 crores in funding from government agencies and established a research center in VLSI chip design. Dr. Satheeskumaran has been appointed as an editorial board member, guest editor, and volume editor for renowned publishers such as Inderscience, Emerald, and Springer. His scholarly achievements include the publication of over 50 research papers.

Professor, ECE
Dr. M. Narayana, a distinguished professor at Anurag University, Hyderabad, has 22 years of teaching experience in ECE. His research spans Signal and Image Processing, Biometrics, AI, and Deep Learning. He has authored 50+ papers, holds 3 patents, and submitted funding proposals to NRSC-ISRO. With supervision of 2 Ph.D. students and guidance to 3 research scholars, his contributions are significant in academia and research.
