About the Department
The Department of Artificial Intelligence has conceptualized in the year 2019. The Department has started a Program in B. Tech Artificial Intelligence with an intake of 60. By virtue of it, the intake has been enhanced from 60 to 120 with effect from the academic year 2020-21. The Department has also started a new Program B. Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with an intake of 60 in same academic year. The key objective of department is to impact cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Technology knowledge to students so that they can meet the challenging demands of the IT industry and do their research in the same area. Through this program, students equip with emerging technology developments and master in latest skills required by the Industry, Research and Society at large.

Dr. A. Mallikarjuna Reddy
HOD – Artificial Intelligence, AU
Dr. A. Mallikarjuna Reddy is an experienced academician and research professional with over 15 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. Currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Anurag University, he actively contributes to research, innovation, curriculum development, and mentoring of students and research scholars. His academic work focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Digital Image Processing, and Computer Vision.
Dr. Reddy has established a strong research profile with 56+ publications in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals and conferences, receiving 650+ citations with an h-index of 18. He holds 17 patents, demonstrating his commitment to innovation and technology-driven research. His work has been presented at 10+ international conferences, and he has received Best Paper, Best Teacher, Anveshana Acharya and Best Researcher Awards for his academic and research excellence.
He has successfully guided four PhD scholars and is currently supervising five PhD scholars, contributing to the development of advanced research in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. He also serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals, supporting high-quality scholarly publications.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Digital Image Processing, Intelligent Systems, Data Analytics, and Secure Computing, aiming to develop innovative and scalable AI solutions for industry and society.
